DEcision making, Intelligent Systems and Operations ResearchHead : Patrice PernyDESIR team research activities are focused on decision making and optimization problems in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research.
DESIR research activites range from theoretical research (formal models and axioma-
tic analyses, algorithms and complexity) to the design of intelligent
systems (adaptive agents, cognitive multiagent systems, optimization
and decision systems, tutoring systems) in the perspective of indus-
trial applications.
![]() Within the department, the main axes for cooperation between teams concern multiobjective combinatorial optimization (DECISION/ RO), decision theoretic planning (DECISION/ANIMAT/SMA) and adaptive agents (ANIMAT/SMA/MOCAH). The activities of the team in combinatorial optimization concern, on the one hand, the study of particular classes of scheduling problems, and on the other, studies about computational complexity and the investigation of transition phase thresholds in combinatorial problems.Research performed in decision aiding is concerned with the development of new formal models and algorithms for decision under uncertainty, multi-criteria decision making and context-based decision aiding. The results achieved can be arranged according to the following themes:The activities of the MOCAH group come within the domain of computer-based environments for human learning. ![]() |
